Healthy Habits
Healthy habits learned early in life become healthy habits later in life.
Studies also show it boosts early childhood development immensely. With over 700 babies born inside the uk each year introducing baby massage or baby yoga from early age could have profoundly positive effects on their health and well being.
Bonding, Social Interaction & Language of Touch
Zenbu Mum & Baby classes helps to develop the parent child bond through time spent together during this often short period.
In a Zenbu baby yoga or baby massage class we talk of touch being the first sense we acquire. Many successful relationships are built upon it and touch is our first language. For growing babies it is a way of communicating their language, and a way parents give comfort to them.
Our classes are like a community facilitating social interaction in a non-competitive environment for both babies and new parents – it’s a great way to meet other new Mums.
Just as physical touch activates the brain’s orbitofrontal cortex, linked to feelings of reward and compassion. Studies show that simple movements and song can trigger the release of oxytocin, our ‘love hormone’.
Consistent emotional engagement with infants can speed their development and recognition of self.
