Holistic Approach to Health and Wellbeing For Mum & Baby
Why Yoga & Massage for Mum & Baby
Healthy habits learned early in life become healthy habits later in life.
Studies also show it boosts early childhood development immensely. With over 700 babies born inside the uk each year introducing baby massage or baby yoga from early age could have profoundly positive effects on their health and well being.
Bonding, Social Interaction & Language of Touch
Zenbu Mum & Baby classes helps to develop the parent child bond through time spent together during this often short period.
In a Zenbu baby yoga or baby massage class we talk of touch being the first sense we acquire. Many successful relationships are built upon it and touch is our first language. For growing babies it is a way of communicating their language, and a way parents give comfort to them.
Our classes are like a community facilitating social interaction in a non-competitive environment for both babies and new parents – it’s a great way to meet other new Mums.
Just as physical touch activates the brain’s orbitofrontal cortex, linked to feelings of reward and compassion. Studies show that simple movements and song can trigger the release of oxytocin, our ‘love hormone’.
Consistent emotional engagement with infants can speed their development and recognition of self.
Release the feel good hormone
Research has shown that skin-to-skin contact between a baby and parent can be a benefit to both.
Soothing techniques teach parents to help babies to calm themselves. Increases body awareness, both for baby and parent.
At Zenbu, what we offer is more than just a class, we create communities. A time where mums can come together and enjoy being out of the house with their little ones. They can enjoy time together and just talk about those things new mums want to talk about… their babies!
Regular themed classes, yummy snacks & coffee
Zenbu Mum & Baby brings that extra bit of sunshine to your day with regularly themed baby classes where your little ones can look even more adorable and enjoy their first fancy dress outfits and mum gets to enjoy some cake and buns. Refreshments are served at the end of class and the mums are encouraged to go for a coffee at nearby cafes to build the sense of community.
They develop through yoga poses, which can aid in their gross and fine motor skills.
Yoga helps to improve sleeping patterns both in duration and frequency, as well as encourages sleeping through the night. Yoga poses and stretches for infants aid in digestion, constipation, and relieve gas and colic.
Playful yoga songs and activities (and seeing other babies) help make the whole experience fun! Including tummy time!
Yoga for Mums
Yoga is a great way for Mums to strengthen their bodies, calm their minds, feel relaxed, and get back in shape.
Yoga reduces stress for both parents and babies. Baby Yoga creates balance between strength and flexibility in developing bodies, so they grow strong and maintain the flexibility they are born with.
Our mission at Zenbu is to make Yoga and Massage more easily accessible Parents and their children of the UK.
